Emory Healthcare

The Emory Electronic Medical Record Project

This group at Emory Healthcare is leading the design and implementation of a comprehensive Clinical Information System which includes Physician Order Entry, Clinical Documentation, and Enterprise Scheduling. Several Georgia Tech Industrial Engineering and Health Systems graduates are leading this project.

Emory Healthcare has involved the Health Systems Institute for several years in supporting special projects in this massive initiative. Current projects include developing metrics around medication management to measure the impact of implementing the computerized physician order entry system (CPOE). Another project involves preparing for the enterprise scheduling component in the Emory Clinic by examining and describing current scheduling practices.
