From Healthcare Future - Reducing Bouncebacks
Jump to: navigation, search

I’m a first year M. Arch student. I hold a B.A. in Psychology and B.S. in Architecture from Kent State University located in Northeast Ohio. I worked in a Sociology Survey Research Lab on campus for about three years working on various projects including a NSF (National Science Foundation) funded "ROLES" project as well as a project for NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians). I also have two years of experience in Nursing School at Kent State where I had clinical experience in hospitals and several volunteer hours in assisted living facilities.

I have a great interest in sustainable design, but I also have an interest in tying my Psychology/Nursing/Research background into my architectural design since I have not had that chance yet. As a designer, I like to use unconventional ideas to solve my problems. I sometimes integrate products that were not intended to be used in a building because I have found an alternative use for them.

My goal is to become a registered architect in the future and eventually become a faculty member at a university as well. I’d love the opportunity to be able to work within a research setting again because research is what lays the foundation for future design.
