Bio
Taryn D. Davis is currently a master's student in the Health Systems Institute. She completed her undergraduate work through the dual-degree program with Spelman College and Georgia Tech in Industrial & Systems Engineering. She is the Student Representative for the GaHIMSS. Taryn has 4 years of work experience in the digital imaging, medical devices, and medical products and services industries. Currently, Taryn works with Emory University Hospital as a Graduate Research Assistant. Her focus has been on implementation of the Electronic Medical Record (EeMR) and Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE). Recent projects include: metrics on medication errors and adverse drug events, developing and conducting a clinician survey for upcoming implementations, Lean events in the ED, and patient scheduling workflow analysis in Emory clinics.
