Step by Step Way-finding - Final
Hospitals are stressful, upsetting, and non-transparent to patients and visitors. Getting to and around the hospital should not be the cause of these problems. Inappropriate way-finding causes patient anxiety because of the lack of understanding and control over his or her environment. Ineffective way-finding also costs hospitals a significant amount of money because employees spend unnecessary time helping visitors navigate. Pediatric hospitals have unique way-finding problems because most are not designed for the size or cognitive ability of children.
