Port-A-Clinic is a highly flexible, modularized solution for all those companies which cannot have easy access to a centralized location, or which have space limitations (e.g. construction sites). Easy to modify and transport, this solution aims at all those situations in which a quickly adaptable clinic is required. From metropolitan to jungle environments, with Port-A-Clinic any company can access a solid solution that suites any need and is designed to withstand the elements, while containing the costs of development. The use of standard sized containers have multiple advantages - from ease of transportation to well known characteristics - requires minimal maintenance, reduces the impact on cost and staffing, and allows a smart reuse of materials.
Some working environments don't have the space to allow for the installation of an on-site clinic which is easily and quickly accessible by employees. Among them are retailers, which don't have a centralized building, and construction sites, which don't have space available for such clinics. More extreme settings could require on-site clinics as well, but the absence of space and transportation is too big an issue most of the times. Furthermore, in case of temporary surge it could be difficult for one single (reduced) on-site clinic to handle the increased amount of patients.
We propose the development of a highly modularized, flexible, mobile clinic design which allows customers to easily move the clinic from one location to another and serve on site all the locations without requiring a fixed space. In the example of retailers, the clinic could travel from one store to another, dealing with all the requests (for example one day per store). In cases of surge the mobile clinic could be used as an extension to the one already present (yet overloaded). Our solution tries to identify the basic needs of an on-site clinic (annual check-up, vaccination, pregnancy test, eye test...) and fit all the necessary into a standard-sized container (20' container). The standard size allows the quick modification of the interior to suit the needs of any emergency condition and transport the clinic by any means (track, ship, helicopter...). The final interior layout is thus left to the customer, who can decide on a set of prepared designs (among them the one on which we focus, the primary care clinic). The modularity and the general purpose of our solution targets the need for reducing the costs deriving from highly specialized mobile solutions already present on the market. Through the utilization of recycled material (whether possible) we plan to reduce costs even further.
