HSI’s Gregory Abowd to Showcase Autism and Related Developmental Disability Work at “Computing Research that Changed the World” Symposium

Computing Research that Changed the World: Reflections and Perspectives Symposium
Congressionally-sponsored event seeks to extract lessons and identify future challenges for computing research
In the last two decades, computing research has made game-changing advances. From this research, we can extract lessons for structuring future programs and explore avenues to sustain this track record. For this purpose, the invitation only symposium, "Computing Research that Changed the World: Reflections and Perspectives," is being organized by the Computing Community Consortium in collaboration with Congressman Bart Gordon (D-TN), Congressman Vern Ehlers (R-MI) and Congressman Daniel Lipinski (D-IL). The event is being held in the Library of Congress on March 25, 2009.
As part of the event, Gregory Abowd, along with fellow researchers Gillian Hayes (University of California, Irvine) and Julie Kientz (University of Washington) will be demonstrating their work relating to “Information Technologies to Support the Challenges of Autism and Related Developmental Disorders".
