Current problem statement
Nurses spend excessive time retrieving supplies from the supply room, and there is a lack of transparency for supply & medication flow throughout the department and in & out of patient rooms.
Description of the solution with relevant sketches
Currently when a supply is taken from an omni cell, a patient is charged whether the supply makes it to the room or not. By tagging our supplies with RFID tags, we are creating a situation where a patient is charged only when the supply enters the room once the supply is picked up by the RFID reader. Once leaving a supply leaves a supply room and is read by the RFID readers, this would also provide information about the supply in what we call an "In Transit" stage which is currently not in place.

Various use case scenarios would be shown in cases to what happens when a nurse retrieves an item from the supply room, to what happens to it "in transit", to the point where a patient is billed for a supply.
