My name is Stephanie Allen.

I'm a Second Year Human Computer Interaction Masters Student on the CS track. In actuality, I'm not sure what year I am in this program, because I've been taking classes part-time. I'm not lazy, quite to the contrary. Let's just say that I have a lot of irons in the fire, and have for some time. I take classes when I can, and am now officially six hours away from Graduation! This will be the second (and hopefully last time) that I "get out" of Ma Tech. I received my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering back in 2001.

I also have a J.D. from Emory Law. I rely upon this most frequently for my "day" job as an Intellectual Property attorney. If you're curious what an IP Attorney does, come see me. If you are going to ask me whether or not you should go to law school, let me save you time. The answer is NO, the reason is too long for this bio.

When you ask me what I want to do with my life, please don't be offended by my blank stare. When I figure it out, I'll get back to you.

So why am I taking this class? It's not for professional interest but rather personal in nature. With various family members, I've seen the inside of almost every major hospital in the metro Atlanta area, including the Cardiac and Surgical ICUs in three of those hospitals. I've witnessed both good and bad design. Taking this class seemed to be a more prudent option than simply complaining about the bad design.
