Todays lecture on the parts of the hospital was very informative. I learned the appropriate names for some parts I was aware of but not specifically informed. I feel my understanding was increased through visual aides.

When we were told about the ICU I was surprised there were many different ICUs. The idea that in the ICU people are technically made sick on purpose and controlled through artificial means. I did not know that more minor procedures were being preformed in the ICU as opposed to an operating room. I had always thought medical TV dramas were completely unrealistic, but I am pleased to know that ER is reasonably realistic.
