The US has been a significant laggard with respect to the use of information technology to aid the efficient delivery of high quality health care. That is changing in large part because of a massive federal investment in deployment and research. Much of this effort is under the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT.
We are fortunate to be hosting a visit by Dr. Rob Kolodner, the former director of this key office. He's agreed to meet with students interested in health IT at HSI from 5 - 6:30 PM on October 4th. He'll give a brief talk and then answer questions.
