When I think about the ED I think of coming into a room and waiting. I realize that I am waiting for a long time because I am not that critical but it still always bugs me. I then will eventually go back to a room where I get my pulse and other stats taken and usually wait longer. Usually if I step in the hall I feel I see some people standing around while others are moving rapidly to their next location.

In class I got an idea of what the doctor's perspective actually is when working in the ED. I never realized how much they were responsible in knowing. I always thought that they would just call a consult when anything was too big. I also didn't realize that ER was somewhat realistic.

In class it was really interesting to see what goes into designing a hospital. It never occured to me how important it was to place the imaging center on the same floor as the ED. Also the idea of green space in the hospital was an interesting concept. All the hospitals I have ever went to didn't ever seem to have green space in the hospital.
