When I think about the ED I think of coming into a room and waiting. I realize that I am waiting for a long time because I am not that critical but it still always bugs me. I then will eventually go back to a room where I get my pulse and other stats taken and usually wait longer. Usually if I step in the hall I feel I see some people standing around while others are moving rapidly to their next location.

In class I got an idea of what the doctor's perspective actually is when working in the ED. I never realized how much they were responsible in knowing. I always thought that they would just call a consult when anything was too big. I also didn't realize that ER was somewhat realistic.

	In class it was really interesting to see what goes into designing a hospital. It never occured to me how important it was to place the imaging center on the same floor as the ED. Also the idea of green space in the hospital was an interesting concept. All the hospitals I have ever went to didn't ever seem to have green space in the hospital. 		+	When I went on the tour it was a very different experience. I have only been to the ER when I or someone close to me needed care. Taking the tour showed a lot of interesting stuff. One of the most interesting thing I learned about was the triage method. It seems that the method they have now does include a lot of interesting characteristics including the numbers and color coding system. I feel that the rooms they have may not be organized in the best way. I do not quited understand why only one of the three triage rooms had a bed and only two of them could see the waiting room. Also with the triage method it is totally reliant on the nurse and I do not know if there should be a more formal or computerized system to set up a method. I feel looking into this process could heavily improve the patients perception of the ED.
