Presentation about ER
My views about ER before presentation (I have never been in ER)
Actually, I don’t have experience related to ER. I haven’t had any chance to look around ER because of visiting others. Based on my indirect experiences from TV drama and movie, ER always seems to be a busy and critical place. Doctors and nurses should always take care of a line of patients who need immediate care and other family members look very nervous when waiting for doctor’s diagnosis. Sometimes, patients die in ER even though doctors and nurses were doing everything they could do. Also, several doctors need to cooperate to figure out the patient’s problem and the cause. ER is supposed to treat a variety of urgent disease, so one doctor’s specialization might be not enough to find out the cause of the disease or what’s going on to the patient.
Reflection after presentation
Due to Dr.Ackerman’s presentation and real experiences, I now have a better understanding of ER and ER’s importance. I got to know federal law of emergency care, and the other aspects of ER. Also, I always wonder how the doctors make the priority of the patients in ER because lots of patients come to ER and ER always looks crowd.
