When asked about what's in an ED I thought about suboptimal processes, inadequate availability of beds due to scheduling conflicts, misplaced equipment that complicates the flow of people, patients waiting long hours to be seen, staff in a rush, etc.

Yesterday in class I got a broader vision of an ED, basically I learned that staff must be prepared for EVERYTHING, they just have time to think about the patient and not about processes that are redundant, wrong or anything else. With that in mind we should care about making life easier for them improving their environment so they can focus on the patient.
