About HSI
What We Do
The Health Systems Institute is composed of accomplished and practicing academicians, clinicians, post doctoral scholars, and graduate student trainees with the mission of applying quantitative and qualitative research and development methodologies to the needs of the health services and healthcare delivery sectors.
Academic Programs
HSI offers interdisciplinary Masters and Ph.D. graduate programs in Health Systems to educate and train students in the development and application of
- state-of-the-art operations research and management sciences methods and theories for healthcare delivery systems modeling, analysis, and improvement
- operations research methods and theories for disease modeling, treatment, management, and control
- human-computer interaction methods and theories as well as information and decision support technologies to improve the delivery of healthcare services
Research
HSI's research objectives are to advance fundamental knowledge of issues central to the delivery of healthcare services through better understanding of the efficient allocation of health resources, appropriate uses of those resources, and the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative health care delivery systems that integrate state-of-the-art information, communication, decision support, and biomedical technologies.
